About the Event
How MAPSE Began
As you already know, the world is changing rapidly and mankind is almost completely and totally dependent on someone else to provide for his or her needs. Everything we need is provided by someone else, but what happens if it all stops?
“In the event of a national catastrophic event, such as a natural disaster, economic meltdown, or terrorist attack, what would you do? Where would you go? Do you have the tools, skills, and resources to provide for yourself and your family?
Our society is fragile; we are dependent upon its infrastructure to provide for our needs. If that infrastructure were to collapse, we would be in serious and immediate trouble. Loss of electricity, water, food, and other resources would leave us paralyzed. We pray that this doesn’t happen, but it could. So what do we do?”
The 3rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Emergency Preparedness & Survival Expo (MAPSE) is the perfect place to enhance your survival skills and build your knowledgebase on skills and products offered for those who want to be prepared.
This year we have moved to a new location – the Myersville Municipal Center, located directly off of I-70 at exit 42. We have been working closely with the Mayor of Myersville, Wayne S. Creadick Jr., town officials, and members of the Myersville Fire Company to ensure this event will be the best possible experience for our attendees. Some of the MANY benefits of our new location are:
- an ATM next door
- restaurants and gas stations within walking distance
- onsite fire trucks and activities for the kids
- proceeds from the indoor kitchen will support the Myersville Fire Company
What to Expect in 2015
With this being our 3rd year, we have learned a lot. This year, we will be expanding to include guns, ammunition, and gun accessories. By adding this to our expo, we hope to give our attendees access to as many survival, prepping, and self-protection vendors as possible.
–NO LOADED WEAPONS ONSITE— ALL WEAPONS CARRIED ONSITE WILL BE INSPECTED
As this is a family friendly event, SAFETY is our top priority. All necessary legal precautions will be taken for all gun purchases. We will also have 24 armed security guards onsite along with many members of our local Fire, Police & EMS.
This year we will welcome back Keep It Smoking BBQ, with his mouthwatering menu. The Myersville Fire Company will also be offering a full indoor kitchen. Both food vendors will have breakfast and lunch options.
Over the course of the expo, we will have over 45 different speaking sessions and demonstrations. With three air-conditioned meeting rooms, attendees will comfortably get the information they are looking for. Speakers will start at the top of each hour and we will update the schedule closer to the event. When not presenting, our experts will be available for consultation at their booths.
This year, we will also be offering Utah Conceal and Carry licensing classes and hands on Suturing Classes. We are looking into other classes that may be beneficial for our attendees. We will be accepting pre-registration for both and offer a discounted price for signing up in advance. (Send email to email@example.com with SUTURE or UCC in tag line and an email invoice will be sent for payment)
Please visit the Attendee Information page for the complete list of speakers, vendors, demonstrations, and classes.
